Farming with fish, not chemicals
Urban Aquaponics is a working aquaponic farm in Centurion, Gauteng. Every leaf we sell was grown in living water, fed by our own fish — without a drop of synthetic pesticide or fertiliser.
Our story
2015
The first NFT channels
We planted our first lettuce into Nutrient Film Technique channels on a smallholding in Gerhardsville, Centurion — and never looked back.
2016
The trout arrive
Our cold-water trout facility came online, closing the loop: fish feeding plants, plants cleaning water.
2017
Deep water culture & recognition
We added deep water culture beds and became the only fresh produce in South Africa endorsed by both the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the CANSA Smart Choice Seal.
Today
Growing growers
Beyond the harvest, we teach — running hands-on courses so more people can grow honest food in their own backyards.

Scientifically proven healthy
We are proudly the only fresh produce in South Africa endorsed by both the Cancer Association of South Africa and the Heart & Stroke Foundation — and our packaging gives back to rhino conservation with every bag.
